Numbering the Stars: Music That Counts

carry on

Today, I’m grateful for music that counts, with lyrics that uplift me on tough days. This is one of many on my “Anti-discouragement” playlist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

  1. This is on my list as well! I’ve been listening to it a lot lately (and other songs by fun., especially Some Nights and We are Young.)

Do you have any other good recommendations? I love music, but I find that I tire more easily of certain songs (or even that they start to annoy me), than pre-depression.

I’m leaving some of my own ‘anti-discouragment* songs:

    Uprising (Muse)
    Viva la Vida (Coldplay)
    Fix You (Coldplay)
I’ll make a man out of you (Mulan Soundtrack. Yes, really)
    The Flood (Take That)
    Sing for the Moment (Eminem)
    Lose Yourself (Eminem)
    Human (The Killers)
    Take me out (Franz Ferdinand)
(Also PIrates of the Caribbean Soundtrack and Mozart’s Requeim (weirdly enough).

    1. Ha! It sounds like we have very similar taste in music! (And I can’t possibly make fun of you for listening to the Mulan soundtrack. I own it, and I love that song!) I like your question– I think I’ll make it into a post, so be sure to look out for it. 😉 I do have a few, though you already said several.

      PYT (Michael Jackson)
Higher Ground (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
      Canned Heat (Jamiroquai)
      Ready to Run (Dixie Chicks)
      Eye of the Tiger soundtrack
      Chariots of Fire soundtrack
      Have it All (Jeremy Kay)
Can’t Wait Till Tomorrow (Jeremy Kay)
      Snails (The Format)
      Give it Up (The Format)
… there are lots. Like I said… I’ll have to do a separate post. Thanks for sharing your list– I’m going to have to look some of those up!

      Thanks for reading!
